"If you are going to walk on thin ice,
You may as well Dance!"
-Cheer, A book of quotes
Hoping to liven up just one person's day, this blog is my goal to make a difference through words.
If you get nothing from this quote, remember this: We should let the light of Jesus Christ shine through us and use that to reach out to other people with that love.“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”-Maryanne Williamson
"The Past:
It is history.
Make the present good and the past will take care of itself."
I often find myself thinking about mistakes I've made or things I could have done differently in the past. And once I get to thinking, I always end up feeling the same way: crappy. We all need to learn to just let the past go and live in the present.-Cheer, A book of Quotes
"You must learn day by day, year by year, to broaden your horizon.
The more things you love, the more you are interested in, the more you enjoy, the more you are indignant about-- the more you have left when anything happens."
You can't have a life if you live in a bubble all the time and never try anything. True, sometimes we fail, but sometimes something we didn't think would succeed turns into something totally unexpected and wonderful. We all need to burst that bubble every now and then and just live.
-Ethel Barrymore
"A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song."
Why does there always have to be an answer for everything? Why can't things just be? Maybe it's because we, or at least I know I, tend to overthink. Dance randomly simply because you feel like it. Dress up simply because you just want to look good. Make cheesy/corny jokes beause everyone knows deep down they really are funny. And I blog simply because it's a passion now. Do something.... just because.-Anglund
“The day the child realizes that all adults are imperfect, he becomes an adolescent; the day he forgives them, he becomes an adult; the day he forgives himself, he becomes wise”-Alden Nowlan
Let my name stand among those who are willing to bear ridicule and reproach for the truth's sake, and so earn some right to rejoice when the victory is won.
To me, this sounds exactly the way a martyer would want to be remembered. The quote speaks for itself and is something we should all have a chance to learn.-Louisa May Alcott
"Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves."
This verse really made me think. Is the Jesus calling us to let people run all over us and have no self confidence? It's good to be humble, I completly agree with that. Humble acts or thoughts have a way of keeping us grounded. And there are some times that I do think others are better than me but I've learned through the years that I am a good person in my own way and there is no need to compare myself to others when God made me just the way I am. I've taken that saying "God don't make no junk" to heart. At the same time, being humble or going through events that humble us are what help keep us "thinking of others" and like I said before, keeps us grounded.
-Philippians 2:3
Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss,
and ends with a teardrop.
It would all be fine and dandy if that's truly all there was to a true and honest love. Even at the ripe age of 18 I understand that it takes more than a smile and a kiss if you don't want it to end with a teardrop. It takes an actual friendship and an understanding of each other. That's another goal in my life, to marry my best friend. And I know he's out there somewhere. I'm just trying to patiently wait for he who does make me smile and wants to be best friends!-Anonymous
"Whenever you're in conflict with someone, there is one factor that can make the difference between damaging your relationship and deepening it. That factor is attitude."
-William James
"It is not I who speaks, but Life within me who has much to say."
If I could describe why I even bother to keep up with this blog, and not just because I have to do it for a class, this would be the perfect quote. If I could leave anything behind for future generations, it would be my life story. Not because I've had so many accomplishments or that I'm just the best thing that's ever happened to mankind, it's because I want others to learn from my mistakes or accomplishments to better themselves. I want to make a difference and have an impact on just one person, if only through my actions. So it is not what I say on this blog that really matters, it's everything I say is influenced from the life I live. And that is what I want to get out there.-Cheer, A Book of Quotes
We shouldn't let anything hold us back from the life we want to have. I encourage everyone to make a bucketlist of things you'd usually never do or things that you want to experience before you die. It really does make life that much more interesting. Don't just settle for the life you have, make something great out of it. Dream big."Live the life you've always imagined"-Plaque on my wall
"Life is just crazy... or is it that i'm thinkin too hard and it's just that simple..."
Sometimes I'm just too smart for my own good.... I'm just kidding, but I really did come up with this tonight. It's kind of a thought provoking quote. Life sometimes does seem crazy and overwhelming but is it because we let it? Or are we just thinking too much? I know for sure that I'm guilty of overthinking probably about 50 times a week. But sometimes I think (there I go thinking again) that I'm the cause of my own stressed out weeks and anxious thoughts. I have 5 tests this week, but so what? If I study for them I can handle it and enjoy life at the same time. Sometimes it really is that simple.-Me, Caitlin Taylor
